ABOUT THE BOOK
Marilynn Griffith always longed for one thing—a sister. Not
necessarily a biological sister, but the kind of friend who stuck
around even when things fell apart. Instead she found Jesus,
who remembered the sisterhood prayers she had forgotten and began
to bring amazing women into her life. They weren’t like the
“sisters in the Lord” she’d met with lace collars and teacup
truth.
These women had endured rape, abortion, abandonment and
escape. They were sistahs who’d been broken and blessed and
clothed in the kindness of God. Though they’d been hurt, they’d
been healed too and made it their business to tell their tales to
other women and listen when others found the courage to do the
same. One of those women asked a question that changed Marilynn’s
life forever: “What happened to you?”
In the years it took to answer of that question, Marilynn
remembered all the women who had tugged at her skirt after speaking
engagements, whispering secrets into the folds of her blouse.
Church was supposed to be a place of fellowship, but for many
women it was a place of pretense and silence. For the women in
this volume, it is a time to speak...a time to heal.
Stories included women of the Word--Tamar from II Kings--and
women who have been successful in the world: Bunny Debarge, Sharon
Ewell Foster, Claudia Mair Burney, Stanice Anderson and more!
This book helps women develop real relationships, with their
friends and with God.
