Forget Tomorrow?

A note to you, the reader:
Although the following poem mentions nasty habits like drugs, alcohol etc. it merely scratches the surface.
The death's devices mentioned herein are also meant to include the entire spectrum of filthy, degrading and demoralizing addictions which include amongst other things, the pornography, violence, vulgarity and profanity that is being sold prolifically on today's market. So please do not omit these as you read and consider the message contained herein.
This world is filled with dirty vices
Drugs and wine
And death's devices
That come in wrappers oh-so-fine!
They say "they will
Bring so much fun!
So celebrate 'til
Day is done!"
"Our wares...they say;
Will salve your sorrow!
"Enjoy today!
Forget tomorrow!"
But never do
They warn you honey,
That all they want from you
Is money!
They do not laud
The lasting things
That only God
In Heaven brings.
They will not say
When sorrow comes
"Let's pray today,
Forget the sums!"
"Let's help the hurting,
Salve the sick...
Ease the sting
Of sorrow's prick!"
When things get scary
They speak the lie...
"Eat, drink, be merry!
For tomorrow we die!"
Hear well my friend,
We've daughters, sons,
We must defend
Our little ones!
Against the merchants who proclaim
How much they "really, truly care"
Yet go about their deadly game
Of selling goods designed to snare.
They spread their filthy lies so bold
Amongst our precious youth so fine
So they can sell their pseudo-gold
As if 'twere candy so divine!
This question I must ask you 'ere
You think that it is quite okay
To test a little here and there...
Will you ask God's help today?
How will our youth know
Right from wrong
Unless we show
That we are strong!
Let's join together,
And undivided
Pray we can weather
Their storm...united!
Then let us arm
Ourselves for battle
Against the charm
Of foolish prattle!
By joining God
Who guides us ever
Through this world of fake and fraud
With faith, hope, charity forever...
His teachings they are so divine
When Holy Spirit is our guide
If we but will our soul incline
To sacred writ that's true and tried!
The Spirit sent here by our Master
Will offer strength to fight the vice
And help us stand against disaster
Through our Lord who'se paid our price.
His sufferings will help us to take
Vile avarice
Its strong bonds break
Away from Satan's deadly vise.
And lift us high above the din
Of merchants who would
Sell us sin
By telling us that it is good.

But only if we kneel to pray
And ask His help to set us free
Will he help us to break away
With hope in His Eternity!

I am thankful for the fellowship of the saints. On Thanksgiving morning I participated ( sang with the choir) in an awesome service. I felt like running through the church.I am inspired to run on and see what the end is going to be. To God be the glory. I am truly blessed and highly favored.

I'm Home I have much to be thankful for.
Hello everyone, first let me thank all of you for your prayers, kind words and my visit from Susan. I came home Saturday night about 8:30. I am still in a lot of pain but at least I'm at home on my couch in pain. Every 4 hours my body lets me know it's time for the pain medication.
The mass was larger than the largest grapefruit more cantaloupe size and it weighed about a pound and a half. I need 4 units of blood and wore three chest tubes. I had three of the best doctors in the state. Based on what little information they were able to obtain from the previous idiots and what happened in this surgery I am a bleeder. Apparently this happened before and they just quit and sent me on my way. I have a very long slow recovery process ahead of me. I finally looked at my scar and it scared me. I have a scar half way around my neck and one from my neck to my belly button so much for a two piece swim suit. Oh one more thing my goal weight was 150 I now weigh 145. Again thank you all so very much and please keep me in your prayers. God truly cradled me in his arms through this very difficult storm.

Ponderables
=========
The following is something to ponder:
If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a
Roof overhead and a place to sleep ...
You are richer than 75% of this world.
If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change
In a dish someplace ...
You are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.
If you woke up this morning with more health than illness ...
You are more blessed than the million who will not survive this
Week.
If you have never experienced the danger of battle,
The loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture,
Or the pangs of starvation...
You are ahead of 500 million people in the world.
If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment,
Arrest, torture, or death...
You are more blessed than three billion people in the
World.

If your parents are still alive and still married ...
You are very rare, even in the United States.
If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly
Thankful...
You are blessed because the majority can, but most do not.
If you can hold someone's hand, hug them or even touch them on
The shoulder...
You are blessed because you can offer healing touch.
If you can read this message, you just received a double
Blessing in that someone was thinking of you, you are wealthy
Enough to have an Internet connection and power on, and
Furthermore, you are more blessed than over
Two billion people in the world that cannot read at all.
Have a good day, count your blessings, and pass this along to
Remind everyone else how blessed we all are.

Happy Thanksgiving My Brothers and Sisters From Chef Neal and Family. Now gave God A Smile :)

Lord, I just want to take this time to thank you for loving us in spite of ourselves. You know our frames that we are but dust and yet you care for us and urge us to cast our cares on you. Thank you for being our example and our guide. Thank you for the ways you have given us the power to live life and that more abundantly. Thank you for being you. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

The Reciprocal Flow of Abundance
Giving Without Expectations
Since giving and receiving are so intimately intertwined in our lives, we often expect that we can attract abundance by simply conducting ourselves in an openhanded fashion. Yet we find ourselves wallowing in disappointment when our ample generosity is not met with the expected results. The answer to this quandary lies in the expectations that, in part, initially prompted us to give. Though our intention is likely pure, we can unintentionally mar the beautiful experience of giving by focusing on what we will eventually receive in return. When we let go of the notion that we deserve to receive gifts based on giving gifts, bounty can once again flow freely in and out of our lives.

When the gifts you give are laden down with expectations, they cease to be gifts and become units of exchange that you are, in effect, trading for some reward. Thus, the reciprocal laws of the universe err on the side of the giver who shares for the sake of sharing. You may have seen this simple truth at work in your own experience, perhaps when life’s busyness prevented you from spending too much time contemplating the results your charitable actions would ultimately have on the lives of others. It was likely then that you received the greatest gifts in return for your kindness. If you have trouble divesting yourself of your expectations, you may need to reflect upon the root of your inability to act in the true spirit of giving. Each time you make a gift, whether spiritual or tangible, ask yourself if there is something you hope to receive in return. You may be surprised to discover that you expect to be repaid with an easy life, financial windfalls, or opportunities.

To integrate this most selfless form of generosity into your life, you will have to let go of your need to be in control. Accepting that while like inevitably attracts like, it typically does so on an unobservable timetable. This can help you stop weighing the gifts you give against those you have received. Giving eventually becomes a profound joy that stands alone, separate from any and all conditions, and you will learn to appreciate the flow of reciprocal abundance as a gift in and of itself.
