Redeeming Love is a great story.

I am currently re-reading Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers as a part of my school's book club which I founded last year. Our book club, Reading For A Change, is just that- a club started to get girls who are disinterested in reading to read for a change. That change can be from learning how to read fluently, to increasing vocabulary skills, to increasing oratory skills (they read aloud to each other), to just realizing that reading can take you to another place. It has been amazing just hearing the response from my students (all girls, at-risk ) concerning this book. It has opened their eyes to faith and to some of the struggles that women share regardless of time period, race, or economics. I am excited about what God has in store for this club as I am dedicated to keeping the books in the Christian fiction department. My students are hooked on Urban fiction already. I want them to know that a story line doesn't have to involve intimate details in order to capture their interest.

I was thinking about purchasing/reading Lady Jasmine for the discussion this month (Border's has a coupon for 40% off any item for members of their rewards club) but I have heard it is best to start with the books earlier in the series. Will it steal some of the pleasure if I start with Lady Jasmine?

Scared also sounds really interesting as a choice of fiction.

I am suppose to also be reading The Five Star Church for church.

Folks, please pray that I will be more disciplined with the tasks at hand. :-)
