Hello My Sistah's, I am new to the writing process, can anyone give me some good resources on writing. Right now, all I have been doing is writing, writing and more writing. My goal is to write a Christian Fiction Novel with serious life issues, that empower women and men through the word of God. I have been through many trials in my life, if it had not been for God's grace and mercy, I would have been stuck in those dark times. God is so good, I just can't keep it to myself.

I hear you there. Writing a great novel with some of the trials you have experienced in it is one way to make sure that nothing is wasted that you have learned. Maybe you can help others along their journey. Sounds like a great plan to me.

Dear Sistah Marcy,

I've been writing non-fiction for years. But when I got ready to try my hand at writing a novel, I didn't have a clue!

I did two things-- took a community college class on novels, and then I bought a book called "The Marshall Plan for Novel Writing." It's a large paperback book with tear-out workbook pages. It helps you decide how many characters to have in your book, how to make an exciting plot, and many other ideas. I thought it was very helpful. And guess what -- Moody Publishers is going to publish that book I wrote using that plan in April! The title is Latter-day Cipher: A Novel. Check it out on Amazon or Barnes and Noble or Christian Book Distributors.

Also, read more about writing novels at http://www. NovelMatters.blogspot.com and on my site, http://www.latayne.com.

May God bless you as you write! Your sistah, Latayne C Scott

Hey Marcy,

A good friend of mine and fellow writer has a ning site that is perfect for virgin writers and experts alike. Sylvia has an answer for almost every writer question you can imagine, but best of all, what she doesn't know - she finds out and passes on to others. When you have a moment visit:

Marcy, you need to be in touch with Stanice Anderson at www.stanice.com. She may even be able to arrange a class for you. I took her writing class and Oh Boy! That's all I can say, Oh Boy! It was life changing. I don't even know if she realizes all she did for me in that class. She teaches these classes, so she has a process and takes you from the beginning and elevates you.
Keep in touch,
Princess Ayo

NO WAY! Not your list. Are you kidding??? You read like every Christian fiction book that comes out. I am so floored. (Okay...I'm screaming in public). I can't believe I could make your list. That is a Christmas present. Thanks Edgy Sistah!

I just finished reading and reviewing Secrets and Lies. It's making my best of 2009 fiction list. So that one gets my vote!

Well, Rhonda I'm going to go with your book because I'll be starting it this week to post a blog, plus the book club I've finally started is going to read your book as well. Can't wait to hear what everyone else wants. What I've glanced through so f…

All of these seem to be great reads. I'm intrigued by anything dealing with twins since I was one (my twin died before we were born) and now I have 4 year old twin godsons. But I will go with the group's decision.

This spirit comes in when we commit idolatry. Yes, us. We may call ourselves Christians but we still sin and commit idolatry. The Israelites knew the Lord and sinned by idolatry (so many examples but one: 2 Chronicles 25:18). They are a shadow of us…
