Whether you're married, engaged to be married, or thinking about getting married, I've got something for you titled, Moving the Furniture: 52 Ways to Keep Your Marriage Fresh. Filled with practical tips, good humor, and a little bedroom wisdom, it's loaded with fifty-two ways to keep your relationship fresh for the next year. Written by Barbara Joe Williams with a foreword by Marilynn Griffith, this is the handbook for every sensible woman's handbag.

Are you aware of these startling facts?

- In 2000, 4.8 million couples were married yet separated.
- People between the ages of 25-39 make up 60% of all divorces.
- Over 1 million children are affected by divorce a year.
- Over 65% of married couples never make it to their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary.

If you're surprised at these statistics, then it's time to ask yourself: Is my marriage fresh or not? Either way, let's talk...

Unfortunately, I am not surprised by these numbers. Today's society looks at marriage as just another disposable item in this disposable world. In my opinion the focus seems to be more on the wedding and not the marriage and the vows spoken. All too often I have heard of situations where thousands of dollars are spent on the wedding only for the marriage to be over in less than one year.

Although, I have been married for 32 years, I would like to take a look at the book "Moving The Furniture ......... Any relationship that has gone on for that amount of time could always use some freshening up.

Hi Daphne,

Thanks for replying to my question. I agree with you because I've known couples who have gotten married, and then divorced but they were still paying for the wedding after the divorce. Congratulations on your long term marriage. I don't generally meet too many women that have been married longer than me. I do hope that you'll enjoy the book once it's available. I'll certainly keep you posted...

The joy of the Lord IS our strength and we live by that. Of course we have D-R-A-M-A but all and all we both think it is fresh. The stats are not surprising. Most people I know who are under 32 (on average) have no interest in getting married and their parents are divorced or were never married.

Thanks for sharing, Sharon. The statistics are sad but real. We have a lot of young wives now that don't have family role models to teach them how to be wives. What are we going to do?
