Though we may all have dreams in our hearts, being a stay at home mom is a calling in itself. If this is not your season to birth a book, manifest a ministry or build a business, it doesn't mean you aren't doing something huge. So much of a plant's growth occurs under the ground. :) Share here about the blessings (and sometimes burdens) of staying at home with your children.

Hello :)

I 'retired' about two and a half years ago and I must say the transition has been quite dramatic. The first school project I volunteered for had me working on a spreadsheet that actually made me miss the office environment.

Anyone relate?

It's a blessing to be a Stay at Home Mom. I spent many years in the work force as a workaholic and now I'm working as a momacholic.

I haven't missed the office yet, and it's been four years. Maybe someday :)

After 8 years in retail and 2 years in the financial industry, I was more than ready to stay home. It's been the best 4 years (almost 5) of my life. I had no idea how much creativity, time management, and organizational skills it actually took to keep the home. Praying I can continue!

I've been a sahm for 14 years. I spent 10 years working before that. I started work at 16 and was glad to have the break when my son was born.

I'm glad I'm a sahm because it allows my children to participate in activities that they would otherwise have no choice. Both of my kids have had illnesses that caused them to miss a lot of school, and I was able to care for them without worrying about an unforgiving boss. Sure there are times I miss working outside the home. Having feelings that I'm missing something or that what I'm doing is futile. Now that I've rediscovered my love for writing the boring days don't seem all that bad. Trying to balance between my writing obligations and keeping my home has proven difficult.

NO WAY! Not your list. Are you kidding??? You read like every Christian fiction book that comes out. I am so floored. (Okay...I'm screaming in public). I can't believe I could make your list. That is a Christmas present. Thanks Edgy Sistah!

I just finished reading and reviewing Secrets and Lies. It's making my best of 2009 fiction list. So that one gets my vote!

All of these seem to be great reads. I'm intrigued by anything dealing with twins since I was one (my twin died before we were born) and now I have 4 year old twin godsons. But I will go with the group's decision.

This spirit comes in when we commit idolatry. Yes, us. We may call ourselves Christians but we still sin and commit idolatry. The Israelites knew the Lord and sinned by idolatry (so many examples but one: 2 Chronicles 25:18). They are a shadow of us…
