I got a nonfiction book for you to check out, if you haven't already done so. I Say A Prayer For Me: One Woman's Life of Faith and Triumph. Ring anybody's bell?

Alexis, I loved "Radical Gratitude!" Great book. I just received an ARC for a book called "Farraday Road" by Ace Collins. That will be next up.

I am reading Persuasion by Jane Austen for fun and The Commentary on Romans by FF Bruce for work. Both books are very engaging and I am enjoying them thoroughly!

Several things going in my reading world right now: my ongoing plod through the inspiring exercises of Natalie Goldberg in Writing Down the Bones, a self-published nugget called Tea for Sister Anna: A Paris Journal by Susan Gilbert Harvey, and Jodi Picoult's My Sister's Keeper, about an adolescent girl conceived specifically for the purpose of saving her sister's life.

All different and each amazing in its own right.

I'm reading Jeremiah 29:11-14 and soaking in it.

Grace and peace to you!

I must say that I've always been an avid reader. But my reading selection was limited to the Bible, newspapers, magazines, textbooks, and stuff I had to read for work/school. Occasionally, I'd read a good Christian or self-help book and a novel. But those were few and far in between.

Thanks to mentors (like Pam Perry of Ministry Marketing Solutions, Inc. . . . thanks Pam), my reading is much broader and more deliberate. I'm reading books to develop me, my ministry, and business. Not only that, I'm actually recommending books to others. I think I've read more books in this past year than I have in the last few years. Wow!

Anyway, I am still trying to get through Rhythms of Grace. (Marilynn, this book is ALL OF THAT! Oh your prose reads like poetry set to music. I am so a fan now. My sister is waiting to read it after me. LOVE the characters and the setting. You GO, girl!) I'm also reading Branding Faith by Phil Cooke, and a few notes and entries in The Evidence Bible compiled by Evangelist Ray Comfort from TV's "The Way of the Master" (praise God for that program). Yes, I have several bookmarks and I always have a few books simultaneously "in progress."

God bless you!

Genikwa,

Thank you so much for your kind words about Rhythms of Grace. I'm so glad you're enjoying it. Ray Comfort's programs are big in this house and "Way of the Master" is one his favorite books. It's on the desk right now! Thanks for sharing.

NO WAY! Not your list. Are you kidding??? You read like every Christian fiction book that comes out. I am so floored. (Okay...I'm screaming in public). I can't believe I could make your list. That is a Christmas present. Thanks Edgy Sistah!

I just finished reading and reviewing Secrets and Lies. It's making my best of 2009 fiction list. So that one gets my vote!

Well, Rhonda I'm going to go with your book because I'll be starting it this week to post a blog, plus the book club I've finally started is going to read your book as well. Can't wait to hear what everyone else wants. What I've glanced through so f…

All of these seem to be great reads. I'm intrigued by anything dealing with twins since I was one (my twin died before we were born) and now I have 4 year old twin godsons. But I will go with the group's decision.

This spirit comes in when we commit idolatry. Yes, us. We may call ourselves Christians but we still sin and commit idolatry. The Israelites knew the Lord and sinned by idolatry (so many examples but one: 2 Chronicles 25:18). They are a shadow of us…
